Apparently, if someone is threatening you as a student at the High School and even takes a swing at you, even HITS you...you are to do nothing. Well, you can run to the principals office and TELL on the people doing it...but then you will just have to put up with more crap from the people bothering you because you have now gone whining to the administration. Defend yourself and you will be in trouble.
I once brought this question up to the staff: If someone were to come into your office and start beating you over the head are you going to fight back to defend yourself, or will you stand there and let them beat you until someone hears your cries for help, calls the police, and the police arrive to save you. THE RESPONSE....SILENCE.
Hippyism of the day...Silence can say so much.

Hey Web Hippy,
I have been giving you post some thought. I think that school administrations are caught in the middle. They are gonna catch hell no matter what they do. To add to that they are preassured by the left to be politically correct. So rather then do what makes sence the adopt policies that punnish everyone.
In our leagle system they investigate crimes and allow for a jury of your peers before you are punnished. But high school students are minors and for the most part they do not have any rights. So they can get away with heavy handed tatics. Punish everyone instead of making an effort to find out the truth.
Now I'm no lawyer, but from my understanding, if someone assualts me I have a right to defend myself. even if that mean killing my attacker. If I believe that my life is threatened I can use deadly force. That kind of stuff is held up in court all the time.
So why arn't the schools using simular methods of dicipline and justice? I seems like a perfect oppoturnity to educate our young citizens about the criminal justice and legal system.
If I ever find myself in a situation like that I will defend my kids and lawyer up.
Just my not so humble oppinion.
