I had Applebee's for lunch today and I suspect I will have the National Guard out looking for me momentarily. You see, the check came and I got my checkbook out to write it out for my meal. As I am doing so Dawn says "They don't take checks here anymore". I thought she was kidding. I laughed. Apparently I missed the tiny white sign as I entered the building that said "Please we no longer accept checks". WOOPS!!!

Realizing that I had about $7.00 cash I assume this is a problem. I write the check anyway and leave it on the table. Maybe that was me sticking it to "the man". Maybe it was my way of getting to meet Betty Jo, my future cellmate. Anywho...I have this fear that the police are going to show up with guns pointing at my tender little head demanding another form of payment.

No checks at Applebee's?? Is this a sign of the economy? It's hard to find somewhere with that "hometown feel" anymore. It's sad that people who cannot handle the idea of spending no more than they hold in thier finacial institution force the rest of us to go plastic.

Oddly enough...I could have paid with my credit card. Seriously though, who wants to pay intrest on thier Shrimp! It wasn't THAT good.
