One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and
decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides
to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads
her book.Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"

"Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious?") "You're in
a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her. "I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading." "Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."

"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the
woman."But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden. "That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any
moment." He then says,"Have a nice day ma'am," and he leaves.

MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also
think.

COUNTRY MART - NOT SMART

There are plenty of places here in town to get your provisions. They all compete for the business from the locals with pretty newspaper ads and radio spots. However, it seems that one of the grocery stores has forgotten what is REALLY important...the consumer. Allow me to explain...

A year or so back I was shopping at Country mart and my purse was stolen out of the cart as I was turned around. As soon as I noticed it was gone I went to the customer service desk and asked them to call the police. Long story short a very unpleasant man appeared. He was being quite rude and I asked for the manager. He WAS the manager. I left the store wondering who else had applied for his job for him to have been the best choice. TERRIBLE! I didn't return the the store until about a month ago, lured in by sales and the fresh deli.

Today, my son goes to Country Mart to turn in a job application. He hands the application to a nice lady behind the counter ans asks for the manager. About that time the manager just happened to be walking behind my son. Without even saying hello the manager says "I just don't have time for this right now, and by the way we are not hiring" and kept walking!!! My son said he was very rude and it made him quite angry, but he said nothing. HELLO!!! That 17 year old kid and every other kid in this town are your future clients! Not only that, thier parents and grandparents shop in YOUR store. Have the manners to at least stop and shake a hand.

He had also gone to Parkers and Parker himself came out to greet my son. Even though they were not hiring, he took the time to at least look him in the face and shake his hand. It's not much to ask, it's polite and it's what you do. It's called customer service. I know...I do it everyday.

All those grocery stores...choices, choices. For me the choice is clear. I will no longer be even buying even the smallest grape at Country Mart until the manager is replaced. If they don't have time for my family then I have no time to shop there.
